I finished all the "vertical" assembly of the engine, including intake manifold, block off plate, CHT probes, valve covers, dipstick block off and starter. Time to do the "horizontal" This includes:
1. Install vacuum pump adapter - this will drive the alternator 2. Install alternator 3. Install main oil drain 4. Install "bottom" sheet metal.
There is one nut on the vacuum pump/alternator that is virtually impossible to reach without removing the right magneto. Once the mag is removed it is a piece of cake.
To install the bottom sheet metal the case must be drilled and tappped to receive some 1/4 -20 bolts with washers. One hole is already drilled and tapped, another comes drilled and the last is neither. Photo three shows one of the holes just below the engine mount hole.
