Brief Description:  Front baffles

Flew down to Fort Bragg for three days with a aircraft group. Interesting flight back, fighting a headwind the ground speed was 142 knots in the -6A and then the next time I looked it was 111 knots. Constant speed prop and autopilot made the change hard to notice it was so slow. Did a bunch of things and it recovered but did it again almost right away. Landed at Murray field and removed to cowl, nothing. The locals said it probably was icing and that they expereince it a lot in the area. It was clear, 8,500' and 48 degrees. Did a quick test flight and then went on. After getting to altitude it did it again, put on carb heat and it slowly recovered. The motor never ran rough, just lost power. Was definately carb ice.

With about 570 hours in the -6A I have never experinced it before and it did not come to mind. I had convinced myself that carb ice was not possible with a Lyc. Wrong, wrong.

Built the left and right front baffles. The right is a bit of a pain because of the governor.
