BIG DEAL. WOrked from home on Friday to meet delivery truck containing Rotax 912. Mine is from Ronnie at South Mississippi Light Aircraft. Great guy to do business with. Particularly excited that he teaches Repairman Certificate classes all over the country, including at his own facility. Fully expect to take advantage of those one I thrash clear of the build. Zero-time remanufactured Rotax aren't that common, so i grabbed this one even though it is a little bit premature in my build. Luck smiled upon me though, and I found a perfect little 36-inch niche for the crate in the back corner of my workshop. Lot's of coverting and painting work yet to do before I'm ready to even consider mounting the engine.
Lots of chores this weekend, including inaugural lawn mowing for the season. I hate mowing the lawn - I'd always rather be hiking or flying. In the margins on Sunday, however, I was able to rub a few hours togetehr to continue work on covering the elevator. About 85% complete. Just need to finish taping the open seams, and then shrin the tape. Next up will be the vertical stabilizer, which is significantly more complex. Not only does it require me to wrap cover around the Body Tube, but it also neets a pass-thru for one or the Elevator cables. Will be re-watchhing the covering DVD again, for sure.
