Brief Description:  Frame for covering test

At the stage where I am ready to begin covering the empenage and fuselage. Current Chinook Plus kit utilizes the Steward system, ind includes pre-cut ceconite panels. Since I havent ever done this before, however, Ihave decided to first do a test wherein I construct a frame of aluminum tubing, cover, and paint. This will take some time, but be invaluable in terms of experience before i begin laying any fabric on the plane. The learnings of fabricating the frame will be particularly valuble, as I am getting close to the time when I will need to fashion lots of custom brackets and boxes for the electical and other finish phases.

Started with some shop clean-up. Done a bunch of fast, non-airplane projects out there in recent weeks, and the detritus had collected. Then, I cut and built the frame. The sheet aluminum for the gusssets I already had in the shop, from my Preceptor super Pup project. The tubing and fabric came from wicks. TODAY, started and finished building the basic frame. Next session will be starting to cover it.
