Life has been zany with the holidays, so I haven't been out in the shop. Grabbed a few hours today, however, to pick up where I left off. Two major areas of activity.
TAILWHEEL DEBUGGING: AM has replaced the original Chinook tailwheel with a vastly upgraded model. Still working through a few bugs in fitting it in the tight cluster of stuff at the business-end of the empanage. Working through it with the factory, who are as gracious and cooperative as always. More on this, to come.
RUDDER CABLE SECURITY: Seps 55 and 56 are all about pulleys and guides for the rudder cables. Tedious fitting, marking, drilling, and riveting. But exciting to have control surfaces moving on command. I actually used the rudder to do a monster slip over an outcropping in order to touch down on a recently exposed gravel bar at the river. But that was just in my imagination. SOON ENOUGH.
