Lots of work accomplished today:

I figured out the damn wiring harness! I was really having a tough time trying to figure out what in the hell happened with the harness for the TCU. As it turns out, somebody simply cut through all nine wires! I was quite upset trying to figure out how I was going ot piece that all back together again, until I realized the wires all were numbered (which corresponded to thier pin # in the harness!). Huge huge breakthrough there. I was able to go through and get the entire harness rebuilt. I was having one heck of a time figuring out what the resistance thermometer was, but I opened up the airbox and voila, there it was! All in all, I'm starting to feel better about the motor. There is still a very long way to go, but at least there were some minor breakthroughs.

I also attached both carbs today. They are on the plane, but I held off on the airbox to simplify the access for the coolant hoses. Libby and I will run into town this evening to see if we can find some hoses.

I attached the solenoid that has the three air pressure sensors on it today.

I also started hooking up the throttle cables, but ran into issues there. The carbs are set up to spring load to the open position...that means there will be a lot of resistance to get them to idle....the throttle cables bend and will not go to idle with no load, much less with the carbs' spring load on there. Just another problem to solve.

I finally figured out what that little box with the orange plug on it was...it's the rectifier=regulator. Basically it converts the signal from the internal alternator to DC...near as I can figure.
