Today Andrew and I started off by taking our yellow Stanley rivet squeezer and putting it to the grinding wheel. We had to shave off about 1/4" in depth and about 3/4" in length to it could fit correctly to squeeze the LP-4-3 rivets called out for the 706A/spar/end rib union. A fellow RV-8 building buddy of mine, Jim Novak, texted me a few pictures of using this technique to get those rivets popped. Thanks Jim for the gouge!!
Anyway...we finished popping the three rivets on the left flap...now complete. Then we started riveting the right flap per the plans and directions. Right flap complete today as well!!
Next up will be to complete the aileron hinge brackets and installation as well as installing the flap braces and aileron gap farings.
