Brief Description:  Fuel Trap Doors, Flop Tube, Baffle Fuel Sender Lft

Today I completed the work on the 2L & 2R tank ribs by finishing up the work on the fuel trap doors and the hole patch. We plan on installing the inverted flop fuel tube in the left tank and the normal fuel pickup in the right tank. These fuel trap doors and hole patch were added to help keep fuel in bay # 1 while in zero or negative G. I then used the unibit to drill the flop tube fuel line pickup fitting in rib 1L towards the nose. I ordered the fuel pickup tube from Van's already put together...and it is ready to install on the fitting. I also started working on the support backing for the left tank fuel sender. This sender will be installed on fuel bay #2 of the left wing tank as this is the tank that has the flop tube. This took a while as I had to fabricate it from stock aluminum. Next session we will complete drill installation of both fuel senders, both fuel caps, and both tank drains.
