Brief Description:  Started Riveting The Right Wing Skeleton

Today we clecoed ribs to right wing main spar and started setting the 470 rivets. This was a 2-person job. We bucked all main spar rivets using the air gun and bucking bar. We had to drill out 3 rivets due to messed up heads but they were relatively easy to drill out. The last rib on the end of the right wing was not riveted per the plans....to be done later. We then took time to study the plans regarding the rear spar rivet callout and which holes NOT to rivet. We put clecos in these holes and marked them with orange tape. All rivets on rear spar are accessable using the hand squeezer. The 4 rivets on the last wing-tip rib uses countersunk rivets vice universal rivets. Looking back...we should have started on left wing first as the plans are written for this wing. This would have made it a bit easier studying the rivet callout and which holes to not rivet. Next session we will rivet the skeleton for the left wing and build the wing stand.
