Brief Description:  Tach error

I contacted RMK and UMA to get any input they might have about the tachometer error I am seeing. Mark said the signal generator on the 912 is just a one pulse per rev AC signal and normally either works or it just quits. I.E. he has never had one give a partal or erroneous reading. UMA said if the tach works and the signal is good my tach is probably set for the wrong number of pulses per rev.

I removed the tach and will ship it off to UMA so they can check it out.

Follow up to this -
We were out of town for 2 weeks during which I got a call from UMA. First the guy said it was correctly set for 1 pulse per rev so I told him I would check with the engine supplier and see what they had to say. He said the only fix he can think of is to set it for 1/2 pulse per rev but he had never had to do that and wanted to be sure that is what I wanted. Told him I just need it to work with a stock 912ULS!

I confirmed with Mark what he told me the first time and he thinks it has to be the tach. I called UMA back and the tech guy said hold on as there is a problem with the setting and he would fix it. When UMA called for shipping payment they said I had to pay to recalibrate the tach as I had ordered the wrong item by specifying 1 pulse per rev and it should have been 1/2 pulse per rev. Very confusing as I had just ordered a tach for a 912. Bottom line we split the cost and I don't really know what the hell went on but hope it works when it comes back.
