Brief Description:  Engine run up

Did the engine run up per Rans flight test manual Part 2. Also checked WOT to check propeller pitch. The good news was that the Tach seemed to be giving the correct or at least expected RPM readings. The engine wants to stall if I idle it below 2000 rpm. I performed the mechanical synconization of the carburators but I don't have a tool to do the vacuum one so pretty sure they need to be synced.

The Whirlwind installation instructions have some conflicting information. In one place they specify 17 degrees of prop pitch or the 75" prop and in another place they call out 15 degrees for the 75"prop and 17 degrees on the 70" prop. I had the prop set to 17 and static RPM was 5000.

Whirlwind also specifies 5100 - 5200 RPM for the 70" prop and 5200-5230 RPM for the 75" prop. Why the tight tolerance on the 75"??? I think this is a misprint. Rans specifies 5100-5250 RPM regardless of prop.

Bottom line was I reduced pitch to 15 degrees, it came at 14.6 degrees after final tightening of the bolts and static rpm was 5250 so left it at that setting pending flight tests.
