Brief Description:  Deburred and dimpled......

Since Thursday is my short day, I was able to start up the compressor at 2:30 today. I started by deburring all the holes in both left and right elevator skins. I then dimpled the skins with the DRDT-2 dimpler. Some of the middle hole toward the curved leading edge where difficult. I did not want to bend the skin utill it deformed, so I used the pop rivet dimpler in about 8 or 10 holes on each skin, just to make sure I didn't crease it. (once again....love having the right tools). I also dimpled the reinforcement plate for the trim servo. I looked on some other web site on how other builder make the connections with the nut-plates flush. One guy countersunk the nut plate attachment holes, but I decided the try the pnuematic squeezer. The results looked good, but I did have to slightly bend the ends of the nut-plate slightly to correct a bend from the dimpling process. All worked and the nutplate fit flush. Once I got all that done, I started to assemble the counterbalance part of the right elevator. I clecoed, and fluted until the pieces fit perfectly.
