Brief Description:  Finished Right Flap!

I continued on the right flap. First I riveted the top skin on the spar and ribs. Then I removed the flap from the saddle and layed it flat on the table (topside down). I clecoed the bottom skin on and began to rivet the skin onto the spar. This was difficult at the very least. I had to get my hand with a bucking bar, between the skins and rivet by feel. I then checked eack rivet make sure it was set properly. I ended up drilling out about 5. Next the flap is weighed down the the ribs are clecoed to the skin. The bottom skins are attached with pop rivets after the trailing edge is clecoed. It is implortant to keep weight on the flap during this phase of assembly. After the bottom skin is riveted, the flap is turned over and rivets are placed in the trailing edge. After taping, these rivets are back riveted about half way. The flap is again turned right side up and the rivets are fully set with a mushroom set. I was amaized at how well the flap turned out. Perfectly straight and flat. I have a couple of rivets on the spar I'm not too happy with. They are on the bottom, so I will drill them out and replace them with pop rivets. Next, on to the left flap, then back to the ailerons......
