I place a few orders today. I needed some more pro-seal, so I ordered a 3 -1/2 oz. tube from Van's. I also ordered a 37 degree flaring (Rothenberger ROFLARE) tool on the internet. I will need this to flare the connections on the vent line in order to close the tanks. I also decided I would be back-riveting the wing skins, so I ordered a 12" offset backrivet set and a 3 lbs. back rivet bucking bar from Avery. I have a few more items to complete on the tanks before I close them. By the time I am ready, I hope to have the pro-seal delivery.I've also been thinking alot about the other systems I am going to install in this plane. One of these is Lighting. I want to be able to fly at night, so I will need landing/taxi lights. I also will install position lights and strobes. The system Van's sells for the wings tip is good, but it only includes position lights and strobes. If you want to install landing lights, then they have a kit that installs in the leading edge of the wings. I'm not to crazy about cutting a big chunk of skin from the leading edge of the wings, so I did some research and came up with a great solution. Creative Air has a combination Position Light, landing light system (www.creativair.com). These go in the wing tips. There is also room for the strobes to also go in the wing tips. The position lights are very brite L.E.D's, and other builders have said it is a great system (in their web sites). The tail position/strobe is available from Van's. Creative Air also has the strobe kit. I think I will actually save a few buck by doing it this way and all the lighting will be within the wing tips. Now I just have to figure out if I will use a heated pitot and AOA indicator........
