Today I continued to work on the access covers. I test fit the assembly on each cover. The right tank float arm was hitting the tank stiffener, so I just turned the float around and it cleared the striffener. I next drilled the hole for the vent line bulkhead union. A note to other builders: Remember to tape off the bottom of the tank when drilling this hole, or you will get shavings in the curing pro-seal. I mixed up a small batch of pro-seal to place between each connection. The anti-rotation bracket for the fuel pick-up line is already fabricated. I deburred all of these part and cleaned with M.E.K before final assembly. The two rivets attaching the anti-rotation bracket to the rib are very hard to get to. I ended up doing a half-ass back-rivet on these. It was not perfect and not very pretty. As long as it holds the bracket in place, I think I'm OK. I ended up covering both sides of the rivet with pro-seal, anyway. I finished by attaching the vent line bulkhead union. After, I made sure all the union ends were clean and free of any proseal. I have the torque values for AN nuts & bolts, but none for the tubing flare connections. I did a search on the internet and I think I have a good number. I used 75 in/lbs for the 3/8 line. I still need the flaring tool to finish up the vent line.
