Brief Description:  Check fit tanks - final drill all tank holes

Once again.....the clecos have arrived! I clecoed the tank skins and the baffle better on each tank. I then placed the tanks on the spars and secured them with clecos in every other hole. The holes all lined up and the leading edge of the tank perfectly matched the leading edge of the other half of the leading edge....I'm soo glad! I then drilled out the remaining attached brackets through the holes in the spar web. The inboard angle is done last and it also came out perfect (I'm on a roll!) The next thing to do was check the wings for twist. To do this, you run two plumb bobs, one at each end of the wing. Then measure the distance between the rear spar and the string of the plumb bob. The two measurements are to be within 3/32" to be acceptable. My right wing was EXACT!! My left wing was off by 1/64"!!!! Talk about a good feeling! This means so far so good on the wing construction...I removed the tanks from the spars and began to match drill all of the skin holes. The spar attachment screw hole were also drilled out to final size. I finally drilled out the splice strip screw holes to final size on both the tanks and the leading edges. Tomorrow I will do the countersinking for the skin/ baffle and be ready to start attaching the plate nuts on the attach angle brackets.
