Brief Description:  Alumiprep & Alodine

I set up the table in the yard, outside the door from the garage. This is a great place to do the Primer stuff, because I am close to water, the door to the shop, and I have nice afternoon shade!. I degreased all the elevator parts and rinsed. I then filled one tub with alumiprep (1:3) & the other with water (my rinse tub). I then scrub the shit out of each piece in the bath of alumiprep untill the entire piece is dull. Then to rinse tub. The alodine process is easy. I use a wallpaper tray filled about half way with alodine. The parts soad for about 30 - 45 seconds before I rinse in the rinse tub. The larger or longer parts are put in a seal-a-meal bag filled with about a quart of alodine. Slosh it around a few seconds, then rinse. The pieces turn out perfect. They look like they were gold platted. Tomorrow I will prime all elevator parts then begin final assembly on the elevators.
