Brief Description:  Electric Flaps and Misc.

I continued to work on the electric flaps today. The flap motor and assembly is hidden in an enclosed area between the seats. The front part of the enclosure is where the motor is mounted to. I mounted the motor and installed the other sides of the enclosure. I then connected a rechargable battery from my drill driver to the motor and ran the flap actuator through a couple of cycles.....Pretty neat!! I'm glad I will have electric flaps in my bird. Next, I added the side panels on the enclosure and match drilled the holes. The whole electric flap stuff is all assembled with nutplates so it can be disassembled for servicing. I wanted to show Wendy the Flap motor in action, so I waited until she came home before I started to break down the parts for deburring and priming. While I was waiting for her, I fabricated the control stick boot rings and also added the front canopy decks. I am now ready to dis-assemble everything I've done for the last 5 or 6 weeks. It all has to be dimpled and deburred and primed. I will also be installing a shit-load of nutplates on this round of parts. After priming, I will re-assemble this stuff and get ready to paint the interior of the plane. I'm still debating what color I will go with, but I think I will use the Sherwin Williams Jet-Flex interior water based paint. I've read alot of builders using this with great results. I'm also getting to point where I have to start thinking about ordering the finishing kit. The finishing kit is the last part of the airframe kit. From there, It's on to the engine, avionics, instruments and a lot of wiring........
