Brief Description:  Attach Firewall, Adding Forward Fuselage

I finished drilling the longerons first thing today, then moved on the the firewall attachment. This is one of those areas that I had to make sure it was done right, so I read and re-read the manual section and studied the plans over and over. I got all of the measurements correct and drilled the firewall flange to the skin. The forward bottom is also temporarily attached to help alight the correct position of the firewall. The bottom skin is then removed and the holes for the landing gear and break line are drilled. The holes for the landing gear are kind of an ellipse. I cut out a circle on each end of the ellipse with a hole saw, then sanded out the area in between with my air driven mini-belt sander....worked great! Next I started to fabricate and mount the forward auxilary longerons and support angles. Most of these need to either be fabricated or alterated in some form or another. I have to admit...I am getting pretty good with the fabrication of these parts. It's nice to have the right tools, also.....makes thing go much smoother. I finished the day fabricating the F-719 right and left lower longerons. These will be bolted to the bottom engine mount support.....tomorrow.
