Brief Description: Rivet Aft Fuselage, Match Drill Center Section
I began to work on the plane about 2:00 today. I started by riveting the other side of the aft fuselage. I then finished adding clecos to the bottom skin of the center section. I next match drilled all of the holes in the center section (except a few, per manual). The next item was to flute, fit and drill the F- 623 corner rib. The instructions are very sparse on this and you have to do a bit of detective work on the plans to figure out how this fits. I ended up trimming the ends so they would lay flat. The outside edge of the rib needs to match the edge of the skin. I clamped it in place and began to backdrill thought the skin holes into the rib. I next made the F-623 forward and aft attach brackets. These support the ends of the corner ribs to the bottom skin. The next step is re-attach the forward half of the F-904 carry through bulkhead. Once this was done, I matchdrilled the bottom skin to the forward half and then added the F-904H side doublers to the center section. Tomorrow I will begin to dismantle the center section and begin deburring, dimpling and countersinking.......
Aft fuselage is riveted everywhere where I can reach by my self; I need help for the bottom...
This is the corner rib, clecoed in place
The center section takes shape with the addition of the front of the F-904 and the side doublers.
