Brief Description: Dismantle center section & begin deburring
Today started with removing all of the clecos holding the center fuselage together and labeling the parts. I labeled the parts with a sharpie, then use an engraver (very lightly) to etch the part number and location before I clean with MEK or Acetone. I also saw that the modified F-916 seat ribs (middle two) were held together with a bolt and nut. I decided to use nutplates instead. The hole is very close to the edge of the part, so I found a couple of nutplates that have the screw hole on the end instead of the middle (see image 1). I continued to set up each rib, then I began deburring and dimpling. I also had a little trouble deciding whether to dimple or countersink the bottom skin at the F-904 bulkhead. I've seen other builder's web site showing both ways and the Orndorf DVD says to countersink.....I decided to countersink, since the flange is pretty thick and I think the rivets will sit better this way. I will try to get all of these parts ready for priming....hopefully by the end of the weekend.
Note the left platenut...it has the screw part on the end. A regular platenut is at the right.
These are all of the center section parts and skins in line for deburring and dimpling.....
