Brief Description:  Firewall and F-904 Bulkhead

I got to the point on the firewall today where I just need to deburr and dimple. I decided not to do that yet and began the F-904 Carry Through Bulkhead. This is a large bulkhead that transfers all of the loads carried by the airplane. It is also where the main spars of the wings are attached to the fuselage. This bulkhead is in two halves and each half is constructed separatly, then the two halves are joined together. I began by drilling and enlarging holes for the rudder cable and electric wires I used a step drill for the first time and it worked great! These holes get plastic snap bushing inserts. This entire bulkhead is anodized, so I did not have to prime it before I began to rivet the parts together.....felt good to be riviting again! I also worked on the shop a little bit today and ran a cable line to the very large TV my daughter Kali left here before she moved to Chicago. I also connected a cheap DVD player to it so I can watch videos while I worked...If the mood strikes me....It is about 9 pm and I have put about 20 hours on this project in the last 2 days. I think I will slow down a bit, but Wendy doesn't think so.......
