Brief Description: Carpeting and Baffling for Cylinder #1
04/30/2011 FF2 COWL BAFFLE FF2-10
Found just the carpeting I wanted as at the local carpet shop here in town. The color is a exact match to the leather seats so that should work out just fine. I cut a cardboard template and have already created carpeted the baggage area, the rear passenger area and am beginning on the pilot and co-pilot seat area. I have decided to use industrial strength Velcro to secure the carpet in place.
Step 1 … I located the CB-1010A Fwd Right Air Ramp and removed the two areas as shown in figure 1. Step 2 … I found a couple section of 2 X 3 and used them as bending blocks and bent the CB-1010A Fwd Right Air Ramp down 65 degrees and up 47 degrees as shown in figure 2.
Step 3 … I cleoed the previously made CB-101B Stiffener and CB-1010G Clip to the CB-1010A Fwd Right Air Ramp and final drilled all #30 holes in common. Step 4 … I cleoed the CB-1010C Right Air Dam to the upper flange of the CB-1010B Stiffener and final drilled all the #30 holes in common. Step 5 … I clecoed the CB-1010D Fwd Right Support Bracket upper flange to the CB-1010A Fwd Right Air Ramp and the CB-1010B Stiffener and final and match drilled all the #30 holes in common. Step 6 … I disassembled and deburred and removed the Alodine from all the parts in the Cylinder #1 Baffle Ramp Assembly. Then I machine counter sunk (flush on the aft side towards the engine) the three holes in the CB-1010B Stiffener that are used to attach the CB-1010C Right Air Dam.
Step 7 … Then I riveted all the parts together with the rivets called out in figure 3.
Time about 3 hours.
