I purchased the X-10 carpeting today. I looked at some wool and sisal type carpeting but settled on superior grade carpeting that would match my leather seats exactly. Seems, that all carpet sold since 1974 is fire resistance somewhat. That is it resists burning, and burns slowly, but if doused with gasoline it will burn like wool or leather or anything else. Believe me it tested it with a BIC lighter and the stuff won’t burn. So next week I begin finish the X-10’s carpeting. Now, on to some of the aluminum baffling work.

Step 1 … I clecoed the two CB-1003C Doubler Plated to the CB-1003A Cylinder Baffle and then I final drilled #40 the holes in common.
Step 2 … I dimpled the #40 holes I just drilled with the flush head inward towards the cylinder heads.
Step 3 … The I riveted the two CB-1003C Doubler Plates to the CB-1003A Cylinder 2 Baffle.

Step 5 … I deburred and dimpled the rivet holes drilled in step 4 on the inboard side as before.
Step 6 … I riveted two CB-1003C Doubler Plates to the CB-1003B Cylinder 4 Baffle with AN426AD3-3.5 rivets.
Step 7 … I removed the hatched area from one CB-1003C Doubler Plate as shown in figure 3. I just used the figure 3 picture as a template and removed what was needed.
Step 8 … I clecoed the CB-1003C and CB-1009C Doubler Plates to the CB-1009A Cylinder 1 Baffle. Then final drill #40 the rivet holes common between the doubler plates and the #1 cylinder baffle.
Step 9 … I debured and dimpled the rivets holes in step 8 making sure that the flush side is towards the cylinder head.
Step 10 … I riveted the CB-1003C and CB-1009C Doubler Plates to theCB-1009A Cylinder 1 Baffle with AN426AD3-3.5 rivets.
Step 11 … Then I clecoed tow CB-1003C Doubler Plates to the CB-1009B Cylinder 3 Baffle and I final drilled #40 the rivet holes in common between the do
