Brief Description:  The doors saga continue

SECTION 45-08 (supplemental)
Aug 28th 2010

I was not knowing what to expect but I took yesterday off and with EAA 38th visited the 2nd annual Vintage Day at Chandler Air Field (GA2) in Williamson, Georgia about 1 hour from where I live to look at some vintage 1920-30 and other aircraft. Overall I was impressed with this outfit and was surprised for what they had for only the second time.

Sunday the 29th The doors saga continue……. And I now have 95% of the fit I want and have crafted some fillets to cover the screw, washers, nuts and have a place for the door gasket to seal against. Including a releaf for where the Gas Strut Bracket intrudes into the Door area. However from a maintenance stand point it will be difficult to remove the door from the hinge. So maybe the easiest way to remove the door (for whatever reason ) is to remove the door with the hinge assembly from the fuselage. Or if necessary, use a box wrench and a screw driver and carefully remove one screw at a time from the door itself. But this is a trade off for switching to the Carr-McMaster door seal.

Time about 6 hours.
