Brief Description:  All air seals finished-Air filter removed from pla

Today we copied the general shape of the nose air seals on the right and with just a little modification they did a good job of sealing the nose. This can be seen in Image #2. We did find that we were too close to the starter gear on the left and had to rivet an extension on the forward baffle to hold the air seal off with good clearance. After a few rivets, this is no very noticeable. In Image #2 you can see that with all the work done on the baffles, we were able to mount the oil cooler on the back baffle, hopefully for the last time. Image #3 shows that the red RTV has sealed the cut out in the air filter that was made to accommodate the carb accelerator pump. We also put .041 safety wire through the "fingers" on the right baffle that close the gap with the underside of the cylinders. We put the wire through 1/4" aluminum tubing and were clear of the oil lines! We still have to wire up the left side fingers. Our next big project, now that the baffles are FINALLY finished, is to finish the air box and remount the carburetor.
