Brief Description:  Baffle-cowl clearance set on 5 of 6 baffles

I had small paper clips to use for the checking of clearance from baffles to cowl but they would not hold so off Claude and I went to Staples to buy large clips. The smallest number we could buy was 1000 so if anyone needs any clips I could give you a great deal. We had cut off a 1/2 inch from the top of the rear baffles yesterday using the contour of the baffle as a guide. The gap was not uniform but after several fittings, grinding, refitting, reapplying paper clips, we got a good gap of between 1/2 to 3/8". We then put the side baffles on and did the same thing. We found that when we used the original contour as a guide, we needed to cut more off the forward ends of the side baffles than at the aft ends, but in the end, we got a good fit even in the nose as can be seen in Image #2. We still have the left forward side baffle to fit and then on to the floors.
I had seen the trick of using paper clips on the Van's Air Force Forum. It is a life saver.
