Brief Description:  Wing root fairing-Micro to wind screen-Prop spacer

Today we put the spacer, backing plate and prop together and THEN found that Sensenich had sent the spacer and bolts for a crank tapped for 7/16 bolts but I had ordered 3/8 bolts. The prop was the correct size, however. I called Sensenich and they are sending out the correct spacer and bolts over night and paying my postage for return. We had hoped to fit the upper cowl today but it may have been good that we didn't mount the prop until we fit the spinner and attach nut plates to the bulkheads. We had a problem with too large a gap on our right wing root fairing months ago and I had ordered a new blank but had never installed it so today we cut it to size, drilled and countersunk the holes. The new fairing fits nicely now and it really was not as hard as I remember the others were. See Image #1. Vern Darley had made his 3rd. EAA tech counselor visit Saturday and he felt that we needed to do more work on the wind screen fairing so today, I mixed up a big batch of West Epoxy and micro balloons and added them to the fairing. See Image #2. We had a big hump in the fairing where the end of the wind screen was and I hope that this will smooth this "hump" out.
