Brief Description:  Drilled, countersunk & enlarged holes in wind scre

It was HOT enough today to finally drill the wind screen to the roll bar. We used a #40 drill starting in the middle of the roll bar. The gap between the wind screen and canopy was just right as was the height of the wind screen on the left. However on the right in several locations we need spacers to bring it up to the level of the canopy. We used #6 size washers which when needed were glued together with Super Glue to make placement of multiple washers easier. In 3 holes we need 4 stacked washers which sounds like a lot until you realize how thin they are. after all were drilled, we took the wind screen off and countersunk the holes for a #6 screw and then enlarged the holes with a plexi drill up to 5/32” size. Monday we will enlarge the holes in the roll bar and then tap them.
I am trying to decide about lift handles on the roll bar. They are really nice when getting in and out but I hate to drill the roll bar for them. I asked one of the guys to check it out to see if he would weld them in place. We would need to do this of course before putting the wind screen back in place.
