Brief Description:  Shims made-Roll bar clamped & drilled

We finished making the shims that go under the canopy deck and drilled them to #12 for forward shim and 1/4" for rear shims. I was able to get the little pesky shims under the deck and lined up for drilling by sticking them to a tongue depressor and sliding the assembly forward.
We then clamped the roll bar to the canopy deck using the measurements on the plans and then back drilled it in 4 places using a #40 drill. We then took the roll bar off and drilled it with a #12 drill in front and 1/4" in the back. At the plans direction, we used a unabit on the deck which made it easier to center the drill. After drilling all lined up nicely. We then searched for the appropriate AN3 and 4 bolts but to no avail. Back to Aircraft Spruce I go. I have them on speed dial!
We will not work tomorrow and I will go up to Louisville, GA for a couple of hours of transition training this week end with Pierre Smith in his nice RV 6A.
