Brief Description:  AHRS shelf finished-More wiring

I was still concerned that re-installing the AHRS unit between the subpanel and firewall after the forward skin was riveted in place would be difficult (Image #1) During the night it came to me that if we slotted the angles and installed a sliding "joggle" to slip over the lip of the plate holding the AHRS to lock it in place (Image #2- Note the slots cut in the angle) and then when we loosened the screw from underneath and slid it back we could then lift the AHRS unit out (Image #3). It seems to work well! Of course we will know for sure when I try to reinstall the unit while tucked over the spar box and under the panel. As you can see in all the photos, we have also installed the ADI battery on the same shelf and will anchor it in place with industrial strength Velcro so it can be replaced.
I work on the wiring again, trying to anchor it in place and take out some of the clutter. You can see in the images that I have wrapped the magnetometer wires and the strobe and tail nav light wires together using spiral wrap and then anchored them to the flanges of the ribs. I also used some split vinyl tubing to add additional padding. I spliced the 3 nav light wires together into one butt splice by placing the left and right nav light wires in one end of the splice and the tail nav wire and the common nav wire in the other end. I will then have one wire to put a pin on and insert it in the main plug.
I am really getting tired of wiring! I will be glad when we will be able to take the panel out and get the forward skin riveted. Each day we get closer but it still seems to be some time away. We still have to run the engine monitor wires and wire the sticks.
