Brief Description: Rewired pitch servo-Checked flap position switch
Yesterday, we found that the pitch servo didn't work so we checked all our pins and found 2 out of place. The pin positions are very hard for me to see. After pulling the wires our and crimping on new pins, I carefully replaced them. When we fired up the panel, the pitch servo functioned but pitching up when it should be down. I called Aerotronics and they said that they had put a jumper on the back of the "computer" that is to be cut if this happens. I called Show Planes, the manufacturer of the flap position switch and they said that I had probably damaged the computer when I raised the flaps by directly powering up the wires to the motor rather than going through the switch. I had done this a couple of weeks ago long before getting the panel wired. The technician asked that I send the unit back for him to try to repair. Claude finished fitting the rudder bottom and it looks great.
