Brief Description:  Polished nose axle-mounted nose tire

It was storming today so we didn't stay in our metal hangar in a thunderstorm very long. The nose gear axle was too large to allow the stop and the mounting weldment to fit on it and swivel easily so I took some crocus cloth and honed it down some. The crocus cloth was getting old so I will have to do it some more tomorrow. The holes in the weldment were undersized and had to be opened up to allow things to bolt up. We then mounted the nose wheel. We found that the nose wheel was more difficult than the mains because the tire was so much smaller and left very little room for the tube. I don't think we pinched the tube but I guess we will not know until tomorrow. .....The firewall forward kit was delivered last night so today we tried to rearrange the hangar to allow the engine to be picked up on the engine hoist. Keith Thompson said that it would be easier to put on the accessories with it on the hoist than waiting until the engine was mounted to put them on.
