Brief Description:  Btm. cowl hinges-engine mount & nose gear fitting

On the 16th. there is a photo highlighting the gap between the 2 center motor mount supports and the fire wall. Image #2 today shows a 1/8th. in washer as a spacer correcting the problem. Image #1 shows the lower cowl hinges primed, dimpled and clecoed in place. We will rivet them when the engine mount comes off again. Image #3 shows the initial fitting of the nose gear leg. We put the engine mount back on today because we want to use it to lift the plane up with an engine hoist to get the main gear wheels and now the nose gear wheel in place. This solution to lifting the plane was suggested by Chip Malmborg and I think is much safer than using wing jacks as we first had thought of using....Vern Darley from Peachtree City flew in from Darien in his RV 6A. Vern had been close friends with Frank Eldridge and is an EAA tech counselor. He came down and did a superficial inspection of our work & was complementary. I certainly would like him to do a more through inspection sometimes. His red and white RV 6A with gold accent striping was beauty. He had it painted by Lee in Sandersville.
