Brief Description:  Rudder stop-mount rudder and cables

Yesterday we found that we had too much rudder travel so today we made a new one and riveted it on top of the old one. Now we have 33 degrees rudder travel and 1.25 inches of gap between the rudder and elevator so we are now spot on. We then installed the rudder permanently. We had to turn the center rod end bearing 1/2 a turn out and everything lined up nicely with no binding. We torqued all the nuts and installed the rudder cable clevis to the rudder and held the nut in place with a cotter key. We then saw that the connector seen in Image #3 has to be made at different lengths depending on where the rudder pedals are located. So we made a temporary test one from lightweight aluminum and the first length we tried seemed to give us good travel from stop to stop. Now we can fabricate the permanent one. Our pedals are at the extreme forward position since I am about 6 feet tall. Everything seemed to fit OK..... Now to the spacer under the tail and the wheels.
