Brief Description:  Fiberglass work wing and tail tips

We had some gaps in the junction of the fiberglass wing tips where they meat the wing and also some gaps at the ends of the elevator and rudder caps. These were filled with a VERY thick mixture of microballoons and epoxy. Friday, the mixture we made was not thick enough and it ran and didn't want to stay in place. Today, the consistency was like peanut butter and worked better. The gap in the rudder tip was large enough that we thought we would need to partially fill it with glass before adding the microballoons. I also added a grounding screw to the tail section so that we could ground the rudder nav light. We also sanded the rudder bottom so that the strobe light would fit after the fiberglass reinforcement we added on Friday. Now we hope that the screws will have something to "bite" on when we install the strobe. I also practiced crimping molex pins and I seemed to have learned something but I still am not confident yet to do the real thing. This must be done to install the tail strobe. Tomorrow, we will do some sanding on the glass we applied today.
