I ordered another 10 ft. of aluminum tubing and a right angle fitting to go on the aux. fuel pump so we can try again on the fuel line from the selector to the pump. Rick Aronow on the Vans Air Force forum suggested the fitting. Bob Collins also had some great hints on tube bending. I don't know what I would do without the Forum. The fitting hopefully will make the turn out of the pump and keep the line off the floor. We shall see. Spruce is mailing the tubing and fitting today...... We started work on the control sticks and push rods to the ailerons today. We got all the washers, nuts etc in place but would not have been able to insert the little washers without the washer wrenches from Avery's. We zeroed out the ailerons and then made the push rods the correct length. They came out great! I had read that the aileron push rod measurements in the plans could be too short but that was not so in our case. The ailerons, flaps, and sticks all line up PERFECTLY! Again we used bolts to hold the oak plank to the tooling holes in the outer rib as a rigging tool. This has served us well on many occasions......The teak grips from Custom Aircraft Grips came today and look nice!!! (see Image #1)......Tomorrow, I guess we start on mounting the tail feathers. Drilling the elevator horns will be the first step. Tonight, Claude is making us a drill guide from an oak plank that he will cut down to fit between the horns.
