Brief Description: Connected flap motor to flap rod & safety wired it
Claude was able to drop by on way back from the doctor's but he is still too weak to work. I fit the flap motor rod end bearing to the flap weldment with some difficulty because of the insertion of washers in between the rod end bearing and the weldment. I then had to get Keith Thompson (A&P) to show me how to safety wire it in place. You can see that in Image #1. I then went down to Walmart's and got a lawn tractor battery and hooked up the flap motor and it WORKED!!! I then began fitting all the parts of the channel back together as can be seen in Image #2. Image #3 shows how it looks with the seat backs in place. Tomorrow I will have to finish fitting the seat back brace to the side panels of the channel, take the whole thing apart again and rivet in some more nut plates. I don't know how many we have already riveted in place already.
