Brief Description:  Mounted rudder pedals, blocks & brace

We marked and drilled the nylon end blocks, drilled holes in longeron to mount blocks at its furtherest position. We then marked the angled brace, cut out areas for the firewall recess to fit in, drilled the rivet patern, and cut lightening holes in it with a $5 set of hole saws I found last night at BIg Lots. They worked like a charm. We decided to go the route of the holes rather than cutting the brace to fit only one position. I am glad we did because I got in and sat on a cushion and tried the pedals out. I think that we will have to move them back a bit which will be easy to do because of the way we fixed the brace. The plans give 3 sites for the pedals to be mounted at. We can decide that later which ones to use after we get the seat backs in.......Chip, my son, and Quin, my grandson, flew down from Asheville, NC in his Cirrus to see out plane. He had not seen it before and was impressed. I let Quin drive a rivet and I think that he did better than I did on my first rivet. We all went down for lunch at the Mexican Restaurant and Chip and Quin then jumped back in their Cirrus. They were back at home by 3PM. On Flight Aware, they were making about 180 knots and in descent werermaking 208 knots. Now that's the way to travel!
