Brief Description:  F705k riveted; baggage floor and sidewall removed

Today we squeezed the rivets holding the F705K to the bulk head. In picture 1, you can see the 4 degree bend in 705K that we worried about so. You can also see the spacer holding the piece up off the bulkhead so "something" as yet not discovered can slide under there. We also cut the 2 pieces of angle and marked the rivet holes, and primed them so the angle can be riveted to the back of the bulkhead to hold the F705K down in the back. These pieces were cut from a 12 foot piece. This piece of angle was "hidden" on top of a filing cabinet causing us much distress just 2 days ago. Next we drilled many pop rivets out of the bottom and side baggage area skins so that we can attach the external steps and back drill and anchor the flap bearing to the back side of the bulkhead. We did this without enlarging any rivet holes which just a month ago would not have been possible. In picture #3 you can see the oversized teflon bearing which of course doesn't have the same measurements as the plans thus making measurements difficult! Drilling and attaching these bearings to opposite sides of the fuselage so that they line up exactly is still somewhat of a mystery, but we shall overcome! Maybe????
