Today, we continued work on the landing light. Many nut plates had to be riveted, many holes had to be made in the landing light lens and then enlarged slowly to keep from cracking the fragile plesiglass. Claude altered the drills needed for this, by grinding off the flutes on the drills so they would not bite in and crack the glass. All of this went well. The lamp was installed and the ground wire attached. We then tried to install the lens to complete the job. However the installation strips were to be held on by double sided tape but they wouldn't hold. It was so hot by then that I was feeling ill. We finally had to quit without finishing. We will try later with some new tape or some other method.Tomorrow, Claude and I will be flying the Cherokee down to Jacksonville to get the 2 radio checked. The last time we flew it, the nav side was not working. Tommy Bragg said to bring it on down. I hope to finish the sale of the Cherokee next week if I can get the radio fixed. We will take a few days off from the building. We have really been at it and so much of the work is S.O.O tedious. We didn't take any pictures today. We were just too tired. We now have 240 hours on our construction log though many of these were in trying to learn the tools, building stands and tables, etc.
