Brief Description:  Problem with riveting on aileron hinges

I reamed and deburred the inboard aileron hinges and spar and started to squeeze the rivets. The first went OK but the 2nd bent over enough that I had to drill it out. I was to figure out what I was doing wrong until Mack Deen came by and pointed out the the squeezer was not at a right angle to the spar since the wing was leaning in the wing holder. With him to line up the squeezer, the next rivet was nearly perfect. SO MUCH TO LEARN and just when I thought I was making progress. Claude and I will finish riveting on the 2 hinges tomorrow, I hope. It is so hot in the hangar that I don't know if we will be able to work too long. The picture shows the hinge in place and the the hole just above the cleco is the one that I bent a rivet over in. Thank goodness, I was able to drill out the rivet without elongating the hole. The hangar DID get hot while I was doing that.I guess the aileron and flap gap fairings are next. WE are up to 207 hours on the project and they say that one could finish a quick build in something like 1500 hours but I won't unless I get a whole lot better! AND just think yesterday, I was so excited about how I had worked all day without a mistake.
