Brief Description:  Bracket mods, Carpet

Long day today - First went flying, solo to Cleburne. Although my landings are in no way unsafe, I've asked Robert to go up with me again and give me some instruction to make them better. Good morning, except when a helicopter was hovering about 50 yds upwind of my landing point. I thought he was far enough away that he wouldn't be an issue - about that time I hit his wake turbulence and got thrown all over the place, so did a go around...

Worked on brackets, getting hull set for most of the afternoon. Like many others, I can't imagine just bolting the brackets on the frame straight to the fiberglass stringers and thinking that is good enough. The engineer in me screams that there should be proper mounting points and a method of spreading the load to protect the stringers from being crushed or damaged...

I went ahead and went back to the manual and started from the beginning of Ch 5, and so I laid in the carpet. It was a messy, tough , messy, job. Did I say it was messy? Luckily, the thinner did remove the glue where it spotted through in a couple spots.

Pleased with my progress overall. Hull guard came today, along with a stainless skid guard, so we'll be installing that soon too, before permanently mounting the hull...
