Brief Description: Alternator Mounting and Wiring 1
After going back and forth quite a bit I decided to stick with an internally regulated automotive alternator. This would require some wiring changes (detail an a separate entry). First off, I need to get the thing mounted and lined up with the engine pulley. For a while I thought I would have to make a custome pulley for the alternator. However, I was able to make some modifications the the mounting bracket to get everything in line. I stuck with the stock 2 7/8" Pulley, since I have a 7" engine pulley, that should run the alternator at about 6600 RPM at max cruise of 2700 engine RPM. From what I have read most alternator can't give full rated output until 5-6K rpm.
I ordered some proper boths for the brackets, I'll swap them out when they arrive.
