I have been doing the canopy final fitting here and there over the last week. I did a little bit of trimming, but already had it pretty close from some time ago. I am using no mechanical fasteners to attach the slider canopy to the frame. It will be held on with the sika adhesive system.
At this point I have masked off the canopy in preparation to scuff and prime the surface. I used two layers of tape. The bottom layer in 3M fine-line tape and the top layer is 3M automotive refinish tape. The fine line tape is awesome. Sticks great, comes aay clean with razor-sharp lines.
I have also masked the canopy frame in the same fashion. As part of the fitting I have added 1/4" diameter hard rubber spacers on the canopy fram to space the canopy off and allow room for the adhesive. The spacers are all around 3/16" thick.
