Today I drilled holes for the remaining circuit breakers in the new right-side panel. I also made new buss bars to match the revised layout. This time I used different fast-on type terminals. These terminal are designed to add an extra circuit to and existing fast-on. However, I used that extra tab for mechanical support. I crimped the terminal around the buss bar and then soldered it in place. Now I have the solder plus a mechanical connection to the buss bar. I am very confident that these aren't going anywhere.
I have some concerns from an modification perspective. The buss bars grip the CB tabs so wekk that I actually destroyed a CB trying to remove the buss bar once installed. In the future I may have to replace a number of breaker if I every make any changes that require disconnecting the CBs. However, these CB are pretty cheap so I can replace an entire row for the cost of one of the pullable breakers. I need to buy one more 3A pullable breaker, but I will be all set then.
