Brief Description:  Empennage to Fuselage Assembly 4

So I ran into a problem the other day. As a result of fitting a pre-punched horizontal stab from an RV-7 to a non pre-punched RV-6 fuselage there is a slight mismatch between the width of the fuse and the mounting flange for the stab. There is a section of angle on the stad that is part of the front spar a bolt is supposed to pass through this angle, through the fuse longeron and through the angle riveted to the F-610 bulkhead. Well, the fuselage is a bit wider than the angle on the stab so there is insufficent edge distance to put a bolt through the longeron. I spoke with Vans tech support and they gave me the same fix they give to people that have messed up the bolt hole in this area. Per my discussion with Vans, I fabbed up to gussets of 1/8" 2024-T3 plate that will tie into the rivets for the aft deck to longeron and then shifted the bolts for the stab a little bit inboard. I also added rivets (per Vans) from the gusset to the aft deck. I used a flush rivet at the location the outborad bold would normally go. The fix is likely stronger than the original design, but a bit heavier.

The edge of the angle should be ~10/32 past a line formed by those rivets holes.
