Brief Description:  Instrument Panel 3

Finally back at work on the plane again. We had family in town last weekend and I was out of town for work most of thise week, so not much go done. Last Friday, I received the fist set of parts for my panel from the machine shop. This set included the panel frame that will be riveted into the plane and the small brackets that will hold the cold air eyeball vents.

The radius designed into the panel turned out to be a little bit off. I had to file a bit of material from the outer edge of the radius and there is a bit of a gap at about the first third. Not a big deal at all. The panel frame attaches with some angle which can compensate for the changes. All of this will be covered up by the main components of the panel later. I will adjust my panel design a bit to compensate.

I spent most of the day making the tweaks to the panel frame. I had to fit and remove the forward skin a number of times while I test-fit the panel. I also set the position where the panel will attach to the forward deck, this will set the angle of the panel (parallel to the sub-panel ~8 degrees).
