Brief Description:  Drill F-714 Aft Deck

In preparation for drilling the F-714 aft deck to the fuselage I first leveled the fuselage at the F-704 bulkhead laterally and along the longerons on both sides. This took a combination of spacers under the wheels of the fuselage cart, as well as shims and wedges between the plane and the cart. After quite a bit of tweaking I was satisfied with the initial level.

Next I made the spacers for the aft bulkheads, F-710C and F-711E. Went back and checked level on the forward fuselage one more time.

Put the spacers and the F-714 on the fuselage and checked level for the aft fuselage and it was pretty close. I marked min edge distance lines on the longerons for reference and moved the F-714 to level the aft fuselage. Didn't take too much movement and all looked good. Clamped the F-714 in place, checked all levels once more and proceeded to drill the F-714 to the longerons, clecoing each hole. Alternated side to side, and left clamps on until almost all holes were drilled. Then clamped the spacers in place and drilled them. Final result was aft fuselage right on the money.
