Brief Description:  Canopy frame preparation for plexiglass canopy

The canopy frame is finally where it needs to be after day of gradual reshaping. This job was very frustrating because if you moved one side of the frame to fit it would affect other areas of the frame. I also decided to follow the tip of another builder who cut off the top of the latch tube to get the canopy fit perfect before cutting the Plexiglas. I will add a bronze bushing to replace what I cut off after gluing the canopy. I will glue the canopy on using the Sika Flex 295UV method. I think this is a good way to go on the slider because there are still mechanical hold down points at the latch, side skirts and a rear handle I will be installing. If the should be any de-lamination these would still keep the canopy in place and repairs could be made. Drilling holes every 2” around the border of the Plexi just does not make sense to me in this day and age adhesives and sealants. Virtually every RV canopy I have looked at, and that is many have little cracks somewhere next to a pop rivet.
